The Ambassador of Yemen to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini, met with Japanese Parliament member and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Takagi Kei.
During the meeting, Ambassador Alsunaini praised the advanced levels of relations and the steadfast commitment of the Japanese government in support of the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and Yemen’s security, stability, and unity, while affirming Yemen’s keenness to enhance the strategic partnership and joint cooperation.
Ambassador Alsunaini reviewed the latest developments in the situation in Yemen and the region, as well as the unprecedented military escalation in the region and its repercussions on international peace and security. He reaffirmed Yemen’s position and strong condemnation of the unjustified Iranian attacks that targeted civilian facilities, service sites, and residential areas in a number of Arab countries using missiles and drones, in gross violation of state sovereignty, principles of good neighborliness, rules of international law, and United Nations principles.

In addition, Ambassador Alsunaini renewed Yemen’s aspiration to expand levels of support consistent with its vision and the efforts of the friendly Japanese government supporting peace and stability in Yemen, in a manner that achieves a response to the government’s efforts to normalize conditions, particularly in the fields of health, education, electricity, roads, rehabilitation and training programs, reconstruction, capacity building, and vocational technical training.
For his part, Mr. Takagi Kei renewed the Japanese government’s support for Yemen’s stability and unity, standing alongside the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and the Yemeni people, and continuing to support Yemen in vital and humanitarian fields, as well as Japan’s commitment to achieving and supporting paths to peace to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
