Required Documents for Tourist Visa

  1. Visa Application Form
    Use the form specified by the Embassy.

  2. Travel Itinerary (in English)
    Include arrival and departure dates from Yemen, along with the names of cities and hotels where you will stay.

  3. Passport

    • Must be valid for at least 3 months.

    • Must contain at least one blank page.

  4. Passport Photo
    One recent passport-sized photo (3×4 cm or 4×5 cm).

  5. Copy of Foreign Registration Card and Re-entry Permit
    Required only for non-Japanese nationals.


Required Documents for Business Visa

  • A letter of recommendation from your company is required instead of the travel itinerary mentioned above.

  • All other required documents are the same as for a Tourist Visa.

To issue a passport, please follow the steps below:

  1. Download and complete the new passport application form.

    • All documents must be clear and complete.

  2. Send the completed form in PDF format, along with all required documents, to the Embassy of Yemen in Tokyo at: info@yemen.jp.
  3. The Embassy will review the application and issue a letter to the Yemeni Embassy in Malaysia for passport processing. A copy of this letter will be sent to the applicant via email.
  4. The applicant must follow up with the Yemeni Embassy in Malaysia to complete the procedures and transfer the applicable fees.

  • Translated birth certificate (into Arabic or English), authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued in Japan or Korea.

  • Copy of the father’s passport.

  • Copies of both parents’ residence permits.

  • Marriage certificate or family card.

  • Recent passport photo (5 cm x 5 cm, white background, unedited).

  • In special cases: a power of attorney or written consent from the father to issue the child’s passport.

  • Copy of the expired passport.

  • Copy of the passport’s extension page (if applicable).

  • Copy of the residence permit.

  • Recent passport photo (5 cm x 5 cm, white background, unedited).

  • University enrollment certificate and student ID (if the applicant is a student).

  • Certified academic certificate (if the applicant wishes to change their profession), along with proof of employment or a job offer (such as a letter from the employer, work card, or employment contract).

Note: For passports issued in unrecognized regions (non-governmental), you must also include:

  • Entry visa of the country of residence.

  • Copy of a previous passport issued before 2015 (if available).

If a previous passport is not available, submit one of the following:

  • An old birth certificate (not newly issued), or

  • A passport or ID card of a paternal sibling, issued before 2015.

  • Copy of the lost passport.

  • Copy of the police report (keep the original).

  • Official newspaper announcement.

  • Copy of the residence permit.

  • Recent passport photo (5 cm x 5 cm, white background, unedited).

  • University enrollment certificate and student ID (if the applicant is a student).

To authenticate a personal power of attorney in person at the embassy, the following documents are required:

  • The presence of the concerned person (the principal) at the embassy.

  • The original passport and residence permit of the principal.

  • A clear copy of the agent’s identification (either a national ID or passport).

  • Fee: 20 USD or its equivalent in Japanese yen.

To authenticate a power of attorney via postal service, the following documents are required:

  • A completed power of attorney form, clearly filled out, prepared by the embassy, and including all necessary information for the principal and witnesses.

  • The original passport of the principal and the original passports of the witnesses.

    • Signatures must be placed in the designated signature section of the passport (usually page 3).

  • A clear photo showing the residency of the principal and witnesses.

  • A clear copy of the agent’s identification (either a national ID or passport).

  • Fee: 20 USD.

  • Postal fee: 15 USD (for residents of the Republic of Korea).

To authenticate a power of attorney via local authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or another embassy, the following are required:

  • A completed power of attorney form provided by the embassy and filled out with all required information.

  • The original passport of the principal, with the signature on the designated page (usually page 3).

  • Clear proof of residence for the principal.

  • A clear copy of the agent’s identification (either a national ID or passport).

  • Fee: 20 USD.

  • Postal fee: 15 USD (for residents of the Republic of Korea).

To authenticate a translated driver’s license at the embassy, the following documents are required:

  • The original translated driver’s license, authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Expatriate Affairs Authority.

    • If issued outside the capital, it must also be certified by the local governorate office.

  • The original driver’s license.

  • A clear copy of the passport.

  • A clear copy of the residence permit.

  • Authentication fee: 20 USD.

  • Postal fee: 15 USD (for residents of the Republic of Korea).
