Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan Meets with Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Ruling Liberal Democratic Party

Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan, Adel AlSunaini, discussed today with Taro Kono, a member of the Japanese House of Representatives and Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, prospects for developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in regional and international situations, the importance of the security and stability of international shipping lanes, and the strategic dimensions that Yemen enjoys through its exceptional geographical location and oversight of one of the most important international passages and shipping routes, and what that represents in terms of utmost importance for the security and stability of global trade movement amid the challenges and changes the region is witnessing.


Ambassador AlSunaini expressed the Yemeni government’s appreciation for the advanced levels reached by bilateral relations, reviewing updates on national situations and economic and developmental challenges.
He pointed to the practical strides the government has made in the field of economic and institutional reforms, expressing Yemen’s aspiration to enhance levels of support consistent with its vision and the efforts of the friendly Japanese government supporting peace and stability in Yemen, and supporting the Yemeni government in a way that achieves a response to priorities and efforts to normalize life and enhance stability and sustainable development.
For his part, Taro Kono affirmed Japan’s developmental and humanitarian support for the stability and unity of Yemen, and Japan’s commitment to achieving and supporting paths to peace to end the suffering of the Yemeni
