Yemeni Ambassador Holds Strategic Dialogue Affirming the Importance of the Yemeni-Japanese Partnership Built on Mutual Trust


The Yemeni Ambassador to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini, held a dialogue with Professor at Keio University, strategic researcher at the National Defense Academy and the Institute of Geographical Economy, Mr. Kota Kanemaki. The discussion covered the advanced bilateral relations between Yemen and Japan, as well as ways to strengthen and develop them across various fields.

The Ambassador Alsunaini addressed the strategic dimensions that Yemen possesses—both civilizational and historical—as well as the importance of its significant geographical location, overseeing one of the most prominent international navigation passages and routes, and what that represents in terms of utmost importance for the security and stability of global trade movement amid the challenges and changes the region is witnessing.
He reviewed the vital files related to Yemeni-Japanese relations, the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, and strengthening the strategic partnership in ways that serve common interests and contribute to supporting development efforts, stability, and prosperity.
Ambassador Alsunaini pointed to the efforts exerted by the embassy to introduce Yemen’s ancient history and its civilizational and human legacy that spans thousands of years, highlighting the distinctive cultural and civilizational attributes with which Yemen abounds, alongside enhancing Yemen’s cultural and intellectual presence in Japan and consolidating bridges of communication and understanding between the two friendly peoples.
Emphasizing the necessity of continuing dialogue and cooperation with academic institutions, research and studies centers, and strategic research entities in ways that contribute to enhancing mutual knowledge, developing bilateral relations, and elevating them to broader horizons, in embodiment of the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation relations that bind Yemen and Japan, built on mutual trust.
