Ambassador Adel bin Ali Al-Sinani and Japan’s State Minister of Defense Discuss Enhancing Strategic Cooperation and Maritime Security
The Ambassador of Yemen to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini , today received at the embassy in Tokyo, His Excellency Mr. Masahisa Miyazaki, Japan’s State Minister of Defense, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic cooperation, as well as developments in the situation in Yemen and the challenges related to maritime security and international navigation routes.
Ambassador Alsunaini expressed the Yemeni government’s appreciation for Japan’s supportive positions toward the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government, Yemen’s unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity, while praising Japan’s support for peace efforts in Yemen and the region.
Ambassador Alsunaini reviewed the threats targeting international navigation in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, and Bab al-Mandab due to the escalation by the Houthi militias backed by the Iranian regime, and their repercussions on global trade movement, supply chains, and energy security, stressing the importance of enhancing international coordination to protect maritime passages and ensure the freedom and security of navigation.
For his part, Japan’s State Minister of Defense, Masahisa Miyazaki, affirmed his country’s supportive stance toward Yemen’s unity, security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as support for the Yemeni government and people, emphasizing the importance of enhancing maritime security and freedom of navigation, and Japan’s continued support for peace efforts and strengthening cooperation with Yemen in ways that contribute to the security and stability of the region.
