Ambassador Adel bin Ali Alsunaini Discusses with Japanese House of Representatives Member Prospects of Strategic Partnership and Enhancing Parliamentary Cooperation

Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini , discussed with Japanese House of Representatives member and member of the International Bureau for Foreign Affairs in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Tanaka Masashi, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in political, economic, developmental, and parliamentary fields, alongside updates on the situation in Yemen.

The Ambassador Alsunaini  praised the steadfast supportive positions of the Japanese government toward Yemen and the distinguished level of bilateral relations between the two countries.. affirming Yemen’s aspirations and commitment to strengthening and expanding areas of strategic partnership.

Alsunaini reviewed developments in the political, economic, and humanitarian situations in Yemen, and the efforts exerted by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to restore state institutions and normalize conditions.. emphasizing the importance of continued support from Japan and the international community for the Yemeni government, and enhancing cooperation in development, reconstruction, and maritime security fields, amid threats from the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias and their repercussions on international navigation security and supply chains in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.

For his part, Representative Tanaka Masashi renewed Japan’s supportive stance toward Yemen’s unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, support for the Yemeni government and people, and regional and international efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable peace, ending the suffering of the Yemeni people, and enhancing security and stability in Yemen and the region.
