Yemen and Japan Move Toward Broader Economic Partnership: Ambassador Alsunaini Meets with Akie Abe and Japanese Private Sector Leaders
The Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Japan, Adel bin Ali Al-Sunaini, participated in an event organized by the Asia Africa Arab Association, chaired by Mrs. Akie Abe, with the participation of the Association’s Board of Directors, a distinguished group of business leaders, representatives of major Japanese companies, as well as a number of ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps.
During the event, Ambassador Al-Sunaini highlighted the continuous development of Yemen-Japan relations, emphasizing that the current stage represents an important opportunity to further strengthen economic and investment partnerships between the two countries and build upon the achievements made, in a manner that serves the shared interests and aspirations of both nations and their peoples.
The Ambassador underscored the importance of expanding cooperation in the economic, investment, and development fields, while encouraging Japanese private sector engagement with the promising investment opportunities available in Yemen across various sectors. He affirmed that the Yemeni government is working to create a suitable environment to attract investments and enhance partnerships with international investors.
Ambassador Al-Sunaini also held meetings with Mrs. Akie Abe, members of the Association’s Board of Directors, and a number of Japanese business leaders and company representatives. Discussions focused on ways to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation, strengthen direct communication between the Embassy and the Japanese private sector, and establish strategic partnerships with Japanese companies, opening new horizons for cooperation between business communities in both countries.
The Ambassador emphasized that economic diplomacy represents one of the Embassy’s key priorities, given its important role in supporting development and strengthening bilateral relations. He highlighted the importance of promoting trade and investment cooperation, as well as expanding collaboration in the fields of culture, education, and tourism, reflecting the depth of friendship between the Republic of Yemen and Japan.
At the conclusion of the event, Ambassador Al-Sunaini reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to continuing engagement with the Japanese business community, exploring new opportunities for cooperation and investment, and elevating Yemen-Japan relations to broader horizons in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
