Yemeni Ambassador Discusses with Japanese Foreign Ministry Enhancing Partnership Between the Two Friendly Countries

Today, the Yemeni Ambassador to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini, discussed with Keiichi Iwamoto, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Middle East and Africa Department at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.

The Ambassador Alsunaini, affirmed the Yemeni government’s keenness to consolidate bilateral relations and build on the development and progress they are witnessing, while commending the supportive stances of the Japanese government toward the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, as well as the political, developmental, and humanitarian support provided by Japan.

The Ambassador Alsunaini, also reviewed the latest developments in the situation in Yemen and the government’s efforts to implement economic and institutional reforms, expressing Yemen’s aspiration to expand areas of cooperation in a manner consistent with the government’s priorities in achieving stability and development.

The two sides also addressed regional and international developments, efforts to ensure the security and stability of maritime passages and international navigation routes, and the importance of Yemen’s strategic location.

For his part, Mr. Iwamoto reaffirmed Japan’s position in support of Yemen’s unity and stability, and the Japanese government’s commitment to continue providing developmental and humanitarian support, as well as ongoing efforts to achieve peace to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
