TOKYO (Saba) - Japan welcomed on Sunday the consultations that began Thursday in Kuwait between the Yemeni parties under the auspices of the United Nations. The spokesman expressed the Japanese government's hope that these talks would lead to progress in the peaceful political process so as to achieve the stability in Yemen. He confirmed Japan's constant support with the international community for the mediation efforts undertaken by the Secretary General's Special UN envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, as well as its active contribution to coping with the worsening humanitarian situation in Yemen.
