Ambassador Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Relations with Deputy Foreign Minister

Yemen’s Ambassador to Japan, Adel bin Ali Alsunaini, met with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister, Yohei Onishi, to discuss the progress made in bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and to intensify efforts to strengthen them in all fields. The meeting addressed issues of mutual interest, including developments in Yemen, current challenges, and the importance of securing international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

Discussions also covered the economic and developmental conditions in Yemen, as well as the practical measures taken by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to enhance transparency and activate state institutions. Furthermore, Ambassador Al-Sinani commended the Japanese government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, as well as Yemen’s security, stability, and unity.
He also praised the efforts to achieve peace and stand with the Yemeni people. He expressed Yemen’s hope for expanded support to align with the government’s efforts to normalize the situation and improve the lives of citizens in the areas of health, education, electricity, roads, rehabilitation, training, reconstruction, capacity building, and vocational and technical training programs and projects.

For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister Yohei Onishi reaffirmed the Japanese government’s support for the stability, security and unity of Yemen, its support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the Yemeni people, and its continued support for Yemen in vital, developmental and humanitarian fields, and Japan’s keenness to coordinate and cooperate with the international community to strengthen and support peace processes to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
